This programme equips learners with the knowledge, skills, and competence to work under supervision in a wide range of healthcare settings, enhancing their role in the provision of quality care to service users. It is designed for those seeking a career in healthcare support roles or wishing to formalise existing experience with a recognised qualification
Learners will gain practical experience and develop vocational skills through work placement opportunities, strengthening both their employability and readiness for progression to further or higher education and training.

  • This course requires participants to be Garda vetted. Continued participation on the course and work placement is dependent on the successful completion of this process

Progression

Following on from Health Service Skills Level 5 there is direct progression onto Health Services Supervisory Management Level 6 in Tubbercurry Campus. This course prepares you to work in a supervisory role in a range of healthcare services.
Graduates may gain entry to Third Level Institutes and Colleges through the QQI Higher Education Links Scheme

Participants on this course can apply to complete their work experience abroad.

Duration

This is a full-time one-year course and runs from September to May.
