Animal Care (Veterinary Assistant) - 5M2768

This course may be of interest to students who are considering pursuing a degree in Veterinary Nursing and animal care. It is also of particular relevance to those who have an interest in setting up their own Animal Grooming business or for those who wish to progress to further study.

This course is designed to

  • Prepare participants for entry to Higher Education Colleges eg IT Sligo / Athlone IT.

  • Gain practical competence in good work practices including an adherence to health and safety procedures in the workplace and animal welfare.

  • Allow the learner to develop the ability to exercise initiative in animal welfare.

  • Leaving Certificate, Leaving Certificate Applied, or equivalent

  • Interview

  • Mature applicants welcome

  • Applicants whose first language is not English will require a competency as stated in our admissions policy here
